Duke-NUS students participate in mentored research or scholarship activity that allows them to explore cutting-edge scientific issues and helps build the skills fundamental to becoming leaders in healthcare.
This intensive experience is the crown jewel of the Duke-NUS curriculum and prepares our students to not only practice medicine but also to improve the practice of medicine.
The mentored research experience provides a unique advantage to Duke-NUS medical students.
Students interact one-on-one with research faculty, participate in cutting edge biomedical research, develop grant writing skills, contribute to the scientific literature, and refine presentation skills.
Research may be carried out with faculty members at Duke-NUS, Duke University (USA), National University of Singapore, or other Singapore research institutions such as A*STAR.
The primary goal of the mentored research experience is to develop tomorrow's physician leaders through a rigorous scholarly experience in biomedical-related research.
