During the first year, you will take Introduction to Engineering, Computer-Aided Design, and Mechanical Engineering Explorations lab, in addition to foundation courses in math, chemistry, and physics.
Throughout your studies, you will get opportunities to design and build things as you learn about solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
As a senior, you will undertake a year-long senior design project, learning how to function as an effective group member within a realistic, job-like environment.
A sample of current projects includes the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Mini-Baja, American Society of Mechanical (ASME) Human Powered Vehicle Competition (HPVC) and Vex Robotics Competition (VRC).
